Henry is a seasoned technical theatre professional with over twenty years of diverse experience in education, design, and production. A Southern California native, he holds an MFA in Scenography from Cal Poly Humboldt and a BA in Theatre from California State University, Bakersfield. His extensive career includes scenic and technical work for some of the world’s most recognized brands, including Nintendo, Disney, and Universal Studios, as well as highly respected theatre organizations such as Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival, A Noise Within, and Charlottesville Opera. Henry’s expertise spans theatre, theme parks, live events, commercials, and film, demonstrating his rare versatility and consistent dedication to exceptional craftsmanship and innovation.

In higher education, Henry has held roles as an Adjunct Professor, Technical Director, and Designer, contributing to numerous productions at Averett University, Georgia College & State University, California State University Bakersfield, and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. His portfolio encompasses scenic, lighting, prop, and sound design, reflecting a deep mastery of all facets of technical theatre and an exceptional creative vision.

 

Currently, Henry serves as an Assistant Professor of Theatre and Program Director of the Theatre Department at Utah Tech University. In addition to leading technical theatre courses, he oversees the academic and production activities of the department and serves as Lighting Designer, Sound Designer, and Technical Director. He is deeply committed to combining professional industry standards with student learning, providing hands-on mentorship that prepares students to excel in the fast-paced world of theatre production and design.
